Broader Reach

The Anat Project: Bridging Data Science and Criminal Justice Practices

In collaboration with Moss Justice Partners (MJP), the Anat Project seeks to engage with scholars and researchers exploring topics identified as gaps in the criminal justice system and disseminate their findings to judges and other judicial system actors.  By sharing evolving evidence-based criminology research data, this will help avoid implicit bias, reduce recidivism, and promote successful reentry.

The initial effort will focus on establishing a seminar series to present information to judges and the judiciary which is relevant to roles and responsibilities of various types of judges.  We believe that the current continuing-education programs for judges could benefit from data driven and evidence-based presentations which focus on the latest findings in research to help drive informed decision making.
